Sustainability Guidelines

Sustainability Guidelines help to maintain the Longlands Project’s focus on sustainability issues, and identify in more detail the areas of concern that are specific to the Longlands site and to its context. They also provide a testing benchmark on the key environmental, social and economic drivers that are critical to sustainability.

Longlands has developed three classes of Guidelines, grouped according the three pillars of sustainability – Environmental, Social, and Economic systems.  Each group of guidelines is elaborated on with a series of general goals, more specific objectives and rationale for why Longlands believes each of the aspirational goals and associated objectives is important to the Comox Valley and its residents.
