Architectural Character

Longlands will provide a consistent architectural style that will unify the development. A regional West Coast architectural expression has been chosen to be authentic both in time and place. Longlands Proposed Plaza AreaExposed timber structure and the uses of local materials such as timber, shingles, siding, and stone will be celebrated in the buildings. Sustainable practices, elements, and technology will be integrated into the building form, where possible. The blurring of interior and exterior realms will be incorporated to bring the natural environment into the buildings.  An emphasis will be placed on creating livable, attractive and high quality indoor and outdoor environments for people, in a sustainable manner.  We believe that some of the key ingredients of high quality architecture include attention to detail, use of quality local materials and attention to creating appropriate human-scaled spaces.  Our desire is to employ best architectural practices to help create spaces where people will want to spend time - it's good for business and good for people.
